Mona Yusi Zhang
Mona Zhang is a dedicated and results-oriented lawyer with strong experience in real estate, family law, estate law, and civil litigation. She has represented clients before the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal, and the Small Claims Court in Ontario. Her clients appreciate her strategic legal thinking, strong advocacy skills, and her commitment to achieving practical and positive outcomes.
Mona completed her Bachelor’s degree in Law and Society at York University and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from China, giving her a unique legal foundation across two legal systems. Her multicultural background enables her to better understand and serve diverse clients, particularly those navigating cross-border legal issues.
With nearly a decade of experience in the legal profession — including years of legal work prior to her call to the Ontario Bar — Mona has developed broad expertise in multiple practice areas. She articled at a boutique law firm in Toronto, where she gained comprehensive skills in real estate, family, and estate law.
Before beginning her legal practice, she worked as an underwriter at First Canadian Title (FCT), one of Canada’s leading title insurance companies. In that role, she handled complex title defects and fraud-related matters, helping prevent significant financial losses and strengthening her ability to identify and manage legal risks. She has also worked extensively in private lending, including mortgage enforcement and secured transactions, through both mid-sized and boutique law firms.
As a practicing lawyer, Mona takes a detailed, efficient, and client-focused approach to every file. Whether advising on property transactions, business structures, private mortgages, family law disputes, or estate planning and administration matters, she delivers clear guidance and solutions tailored to each client’s needs and long-term interests.
Beyond her legal practice, Mona is passionate about serving her community, staying active outdoors, and spending time with her three beloved cats. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and proudly supports clients from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, ensuring they feel understood, informed, and empowered at every step.
